Happy Birthday, Moon!
Alien Abductee says:
Here I am!
Slip Me One Good Sweaty Sailor says:
There you are!!!
Alien Abductee says:
Thank goodness!
Slip Me One Good Sweaty Sailor says:
How was your b=day?
Alien Abductee says:
It was AWESOME!
Alien Abductee says:
(More specifically, the day after was even better)
Slip Me One Good Sweaty Sailor says:
what did you do?
Alien Abductee says:
Do you want the long version or the not-quite-as-long version?
Slip Me One Good Sweaty Sailor says:
I'm up for the long version
Alien Abductee says:
Okay!
Alien Abductee says:
Well, last Thursday I went to the beach
Alien Abductee says:
And I was kinda sorts supposed to come home the next day to go to a work thing, but I didn't
Alien Abductee says:
As the weather was perfect
Alien Abductee says:
And I really didn't want to come home
Slip Me One Good Sweaty Sailor says:
I don't blame you
Alien Abductee says:
And as I knew no one would hassle me for not going to the (semi-optional) work thing
Alien Abductee says:
So then on Sunday, my birthday sort of began a day early
Alien Abductee says:
My mom bought me lunch and new sneakers
Alien Abductee says:
Although she made me follow this diet we were on at the beach, so as birthday lunches go, it was a little lacking
Alien Abductee says:
We went to this place that has REALLY good sourdough bread
Alien Abductee says:
Which I couldn't have
Alien Abductee says:
And cobb-ler so good I can't even order it in any other restaurant anymore
Slip Me One Good Sweaty Sailor says:
oh, no!!!
Alien Abductee says:
Which I also couldn't have
Alien Abductee says:
So then when my mom went to go work out at the club
Alien Abductee says:
(which I declined)
Alien Abductee says:
I went home to see my dad (their house, I mean)
Alien Abductee says:
And told him how she wouldn't let me get bread OR dessert, and THEN
Alien Abductee says:
(with a straight face, mind you)
Alien Abductee says:
told me "This is your birthday lunch, order anything you want!"
Alien Abductee says:
So then my dad, who is also under mom's strict diet orders
Alien Abductee says:
So that the life insurance she wants to buy on his life will be cheaper when his cholesterol goes down (or so she thinks, at least)
Alien Abductee says:
Anyway, he said "Want to go back to Anthony's, and you can have bread and dessert this time?"
Alien Abductee says:
Hee hee hee hee hee
Alien Abductee says:
So we did!
Alien Abductee says:
AND wine!
Slip Me One Good Sweaty Sailor says:
don't you just love daddy????
Alien Abductee says:
YES!
Alien Abductee says:
So that was most of what was significant about Sunday
Alien Abductee says:
except
Alien Abductee says:
That when we got into cell phone range, after leaving the beach
Alien Abductee says:
I called Jim
Alien Abductee says:
And he said that our neighbor was selling her house
Alien Abductee says:
And she has this lot that adjoins ours
Alien Abductee says:
And did we want to buy it?
Alien Abductee says:
(With our no money)
Slip Me One Good Sweaty Sailor says:
wow!!!
Alien Abductee says:
I know!
Alien Abductee says:
It's only a tenth of an acre, but we have a funny --shaped property, so it would join our L to make a rectangle, sort of
Slip Me One Good Sweaty Sailor says:
but, it sounds like you can do a lot with it
Alien Abductee says:
And the people across the driveway from us who built their damn house in what used to be someone else's back yard paid $62,000 for a fifth of an acre
Alien Abductee says:
And we were offered a chance to snatch this tenth of an acre for $8300
Alien Abductee says:
So, a VERY good deal
Slip Me One Good Sweaty Sailor says:
definitely
Slip Me One Good Sweaty Sailor says:
did you take it?
Alien Abductee says:
So I told my mom
Alien Abductee says:
And SHE said
Alien Abductee says:
I happen to have cash right now (what are the odds) from moving things out of an IRA, maybe I should just buy it as an investment
Alien Abductee says:
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Alien Abductee says:
So it's a done deal!
Slip Me One Good Sweaty Sailor says:
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!
Alien Abductee says:
I know!
Alien Abductee says:
Except it's not really mine
Alien Abductee says:
But close enough!
Slip Me One Good Sweaty Sailor says:
what are you, er, I mean your mom, going to do with it?
Slip Me One Good Sweaty Sailor says:
build on it?
Alien Abductee says:
Hee hee hee hee hee
Alien Abductee says:
Well, we might not do anything except leave it as a buffer of trees, unlike those dorks across from us, but we might build on it, for which there are three choices
Alien Abductee says:
1. build out on our existing house to remodel into the house we want it to be
Alien Abductee says:
2. build a house for my parents to move into later when I have a baby so they can be on-call nannies
Alien Abductee says:
And rent it in the mean time
Alien Abductee says:
Or 3. build and sell for profit
Slip Me One Good Sweaty Sailor says:
I say build on to your existing house
Alien Abductee says:
Alien Abductee says:
Well, even if we build and sell, we could prolly still build onto ours.
Alien Abductee says:
But what's great is, we can just take our time to decide
Alien Abductee says:
And in the meantime, I am going to plan on getting my feng shui teacher out to advise me
Slip Me One Good Sweaty Sailor says:
that's a gread idea
Alien Abductee says:
I don't think I do the best feng shui on myself - not enough objectivity
Alien Abductee says:
And I don't think we've had the best health, luck, joy, etc. so far in this house
Alien Abductee says:
So if he says, don't bother, just move
Alien Abductee says:
Or, build your own house on the other lot and sell this one
Alien Abductee says:
(that would be possibility #4, I guess)
Alien Abductee says:
then I would take him very seriously
Alien Abductee says:
Anyway, Monday my actual birthday was kind of taken up with online research with mom about the parcels and such, as well as with getting up early to drive up here from there, dropping the car off in
Alien Abductee says:
Which was not really what I call birthday-like
Alien Abductee says:
But it was worth it to get the land stuff all decided
Slip Me One Good Sweaty Sailor says:
I bet it was
Alien Abductee says:
And I picked up this fused glass plate I made, which was VERY exctiting
Alien Abductee says:
And also Jim gave me a present for a change
Alien Abductee says:
Which I am looking at right now, seeing as it's a flat screen monitor!!!!!!!
Alien Abductee says:
And he even took me to the Olive Garden, which was big of him as he doesn't like it
Alien Abductee says:
So that was all fine and dandy
Alien Abductee says:
But the very best day was the next day
Slip Me One Good Sweaty Sailor says:
Wow! That's great of him
Alien Abductee says:
(told you, this is the loooooong version!)
Alien Abductee says:
My friend Melissa in
Alien Abductee says:
Did I tell you about this and the dream I had?
Slip Me One Good Sweaty Sailor says:
no, you haven't told me
Alien Abductee says:
Oh dear, okay
Alien Abductee says:
Well, she invited me down, and we made plans for 11-3
Slip Me One Good Sweaty Sailor says:
*story just got longer*
Alien Abductee says:
*yes it did*
Slip Me One Good Sweaty Sailor says:
hee
Alien Abductee says:
Anyhow, it was to be a surprise
Alien Abductee says:
And I was sooooooooooooo excited
Alien Abductee says:
Because that's a total fantasy come true, someone planning a whole day for your birthday without even being asked or anything!
Slip Me One Good Sweaty Sailor says:
Yes it is!!!!
Alien Abductee says:
She told me about this a couple of weeks ago
Alien Abductee says:
And that same night, my dad said, "How about if we come up tomorrow and spend the weekend with you doing whatever it takes for you the finish your reports?"
Alien Abductee says:
So I had these two AMAZING offers in one night!
Slip Me One Good Sweaty Sailor says:
Sounds like you couldn't ask for anything more
Alien Abductee says:
And it happened to be the night of the end of the first three days of the class I am taking, which is all about creating possibility in your life
Alien Abductee says:
!!!!!!!
Alien Abductee says:
So that night, I dreamt Melissa waslaying out papers that were about the surprise, and I could see them
Alien Abductee says:
And I was sort of surprised she was showing me
Alien Abductee says:
But I could see two pictures of VW bugs, the new ones, one yellow and one ue
Alien Abductee says:
b-lue
Alien Abductee says:
I eman
Slip Me One Good Sweaty Sailor says:
after all, it's supposed to be a surprise
Alien Abductee says:
mean
Alien Abductee says:
I know!
Alien Abductee says:
So I was amazed, of course, that she was letting me see, and that she was giving me a car
Alien Abductee says:
Because that's a pretty big darn present
Alien Abductee says:
Especially for your massage therapist friend to give you
Alien Abductee says:
Then (still in the dream)
Alien Abductee says:
While I am thinking about how she's laying those pages out so I can choose the color
Alien Abductee says:
My dad calls and says "Your mother and I just bought a car, and it's all picked out, except for the color and some of the features........."
Alien Abductee says:
So I go "Ohhhhhhhhhh"
Alien Abductee says:
As in, my parents are paying, but Melissa is helping, and they are all pretending that it's other things going on, but really I am picking out the color and so on
Alien Abductee says:
(Like they wouldn't all know I would pick Blue!!!!!!!!)
Alien Abductee says:
That's the gist of the dream
Slip Me One Good Sweaty Sailor says:
how silly of them
Alien Abductee says:
I know!!!!!
Alien Abductee says:
So I interpreted it thusly:
Alien Abductee says:
1. Both of them offered me significant gifts in real life, the stature of which was huge to me, like getting a car as a gift
Alien Abductee says:
2. Cars give you freedom to go places, and being freed up from those damn reports would set me free for the rest of the summer
Alien Abductee says:
Etc.
Slip Me One Good Sweaty Sailor says:
very good interpretation
Alien Abductee says:
Thank you, thank you! *bows*
Alien Abductee says:
So on Tuesday when I drove down to see Melissa
Alien Abductee says:
She gave me a gift of a bracelet she knew I wanted and......
Alien Abductee says:
of course..........
Alien Abductee says:
a little toy bug
Slip Me One Good Sweaty Sailor says:
wow!!!!
Alien Abductee says:
Now, she could only find yellow
Alien Abductee says:
(I had told her about the dream)
Alien Abductee says:
And yellow would have been significant, as it was still in the dream
Alien Abductee says:
BUT
Alien Abductee says:
She painted it metallic Blue with nail polish
Alien Abductee says:
Is that true friendship, or what?!
Slip Me One Good Sweaty Sailor says:
really?
Alien Abductee says:
REally!
Slip Me One Good Sweaty Sailor says:
but she already knew about the dream, right?
Alien Abductee says:
Yes, she did
Slip Me One Good Sweaty Sailor says:
that's really sweet of her
Alien Abductee says:
I know!
Slip Me One Good Sweaty Sailor says:
especially to go to such trouble to make the yellow bug blue
Alien Abductee says:
I know!
Alien Abductee says:
Then she proceeded to take me to her mom's to do my nails
Alien Abductee says:
(Her mom has a whole manicure set-up for doing people's nails at her house)
Alien Abductee says:
Then to Starbucks for a drink and pastry
Alien Abductee says:
Then to the nail salon for pedicures for both of us
Alien Abductee says:
Then to lunch at the place of my choice
Alien Abductee says:
Then to the drugstore for hair color
Alien Abductee says:
Then to Fred Meyer's for me to buy Jim an anniversary present (long tangential story, which we won't explore here)
Alien Abductee says:
Then home to her house to color my hair and wax my eyebrows and such
Alien Abductee says:
And it was a glorious, glorious day!
Alien Abductee says:
But it still wasn't over!
Slip Me One Good Sweaty Sailor says:
Sounds like you got he Royal Treatment
Alien Abductee says:
I did!
Slip Me One Good Sweaty Sailor says:
there's more???
Alien Abductee says:
There is!!!!!
Slip Me One Good Sweaty Sailor says:
how could it possibly get any better?
Alien Abductee says:
I know!
Alien Abductee says:
But I was only done at Melissa's at that point, you see.
Alien Abductee says:
So we said goodbye, and then I drove up here
Alien Abductee says:
Where my colleagues were having a party
Alien Abductee says:
Which wasn't supposed to be for me, at first, but I horned in
Alien Abductee says:
Christiane had told me a couple weeks ago that she was having a party for Kerry's 50th birthday (which was the 30th)
Alien Abductee says:
On the second
Alien Abductee says:
So I felt oBligated to tell her my birthday was the first and that she had better include me, too
Alien Abductee says:
Which she did
Slip Me One Good Sweaty Sailor says:
I would have done the same
Alien Abductee says:
Yes, because otherwise I would have felt neglected
Slip Me One Good Sweaty Sailor says:
and we can't have that
Alien Abductee says:
And it probaBly would have come up in conversation
Alien Abductee says:
No, we most certainly can't!
Alien Abductee says:
So this was mostly colleagues from school, out in her really pretty back yard with yummy food and so many desserts I never even tried them all
Alien Abductee says:
And wine and champagne
Alien Abductee says:
And fellowship and laughing
Alien Abductee says:
And I felt like, "Wow, I think I have friends!"
Alien Abductee says:
Oh, and get this!
Slip Me One Good Sweaty Sailor says:
what a great feeling
Slip Me One Good Sweaty Sailor says:
yes???
Alien Abductee says:
People even gave me presents!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Alien Abductee says:
Slip Me One Good Sweaty Sailor says:
yay!!!
Alien Abductee says:
I am all about presents!
Slip Me One Good Sweaty Sailor says:
me, too
Slip Me One Good Sweaty Sailor says:
I love presents
Alien Abductee says:
So, it was a great three days, and I don't even really mind being *gasp* 36
Slip Me One Good Sweaty Sailor says:
If I were a
Alien Abductee says:
ME TOO!
Alien Abductee says:
We could be the present monster twins!
Slip Me One Good Sweaty Sailor says:
Okay!!!!
Alien Abductee says:
Okay!!!!!
Alien Abductee says:
"Me want presents!"
Alien Abductee says:
"Me LOVES presents!"
Alien Abductee says:
*finds this character strangely easy to slip into*
Slip Me One Good Sweaty Sailor says:
*Noticed*
Alien Abductee says:
Hee!
Alien Abductee says:
So, how are things with you?
Alien Abductee says:
*points to end of long story*
Slip Me One Good Sweaty Sailor says:
Going really good
Alien Abductee says:
YAY!
Slip Me One Good Sweaty Sailor says:
*loved the long story*
Alien Abductee says:
More yay!

Disgruntled, Disillusioned & Disenfranchised
I write to you on this here day of Saturday 29th January 2005 with some important information I think you must immediatly know:
SLEUTH IS A STUPID GAME!
I was merrily partaking in a hunt for the delightful faction that is the Order of the Socrates, breezing through the first two favours to find that my Barber was up next.
My first encountered hurdle involved finding three right handed notes and one left at the scene. But, remembering life is never easy, I lifted my head and went powering ahead.
However, hurdle number two involved all the suspects being totally uncreative knob jockeys who all apparently used their right hand. Again, I've always quite fancied going to heaven and thought this was just another of God's tests so picked up my spirits and carried on.
Then, hurdle number three: the stupid wanker, sorry banker, only wanted to answer ONE question. I wasn't put out by this, oh no. I realised maybe it was another of God's little fun games, a test of faith. So off I went and tried my luck. Maybe I should have realised after five years of playing the lottery with no fortune to show for it, my luck in this case would have been no better. It wasn't. I am now off to lift some spirits, the kind you find in the off license.
This game has not only turned me into a reclusive computer freak, but now has driven me to drink, an activity I rarely before cared for. I will be writing to my soliciter to file for compensation as soon as I find a pen and some paper. I will be writing it with my right hand.
Thankyou for your time.
Kind regards
Miss. N. Annoyed
